Director of Delivery

£competitive

This role will see you working across a number of our key programmes that include:

  • Strategic spatial planning
  • Growing our digital capacity
  • Ensuring a secure and sustainable energy resource

Success in this role will depend on your ability to lead through influence. You’ll be working with multiple stakeholders, with different priorities, and who are often at different stages of engagement in relation to these key strands of work. Identifying common ground and shared opportunities will be vital in building consensus and momentum.

Your contribution will be central to enabling delivery of the Midlands Engine Business Plan. You’ll ensure effective management and governance arrangements underpin key work programmes, often working through matrix management arrangements when working in collaboration with others.

It’s vital that you can quickly establish credibility and trust with senior stakeholders in a range of settings and we expect that you will already have considerable experience of working through partnerships on high profile, highly visible programmes of work, at scale. Outcome focused, you’ll bring a highly developed understanding of programme and project management principles, and how to tailor your approach to different circumstances.

As a member of the Executive team you’ll be a capable and influential ambassador for our work, often deputising for the Director – excellent communication and presentation skills will be important. And you should offer expert professional knowledge and senior experience in economic / international development / investment / commercial arenas.
