The Midlands Engine Partnership draws on the expertise and talent of key players across our region. We bring the public and private sectors together, working with local and combined authorities, LEPs, universities, businesses and others to share different perspectives and priorities and to build a collective voice for our region. We work with thousands of businesses, all top-tier local authorities in the region, nine LEPs and 20 universities.
Our approach enables us to formulate cohesive and consistent strategies in response to key regional issues, and these are encapsulated in the goals we have set:
Investing in transport and growth: connecting people and businesses within our region and improving links to the rest of the UK and beyond.
Accelerating innovation and enterprise: by strengthening networks and collaboration between universities and businesses we will create an environment that nurtures innovation and productivity and connects SMEs to the support that is available to them.
Powering an ultra-connected region: Digital connectivity and access to real-time data are essential tools in supporting economic success and better quality of life. And we’re committed to making more use of low-carbon, reliable sources of energy to ensure our growth ambitions are sustainable and protect our natural assets.
Trading with the world: The Midlands is open for business. And better global connections and networks will help to promote our region as a great destination for investment and open up new markets for our businesses.
